OBAMAPHONE! ONE PHONE, ONE VOTE!

OBAMAPHONE! ONE PHONE, ONE VOTE! ObamaPhone means one phone, one vote. Most Americans have now seen on YouTube or heard about the deranged woman from Cleveland shouting into the camera: “Keep Obama as President. Everybody in Cleveland , low minority, got an Obamaphone and he gonna do more for us.” She sums up: “He gave us a phone ... Romney sucks.“ Ok, you say, if Obama wants to use his campaign money to give out ObamaPhones ‘he can do that’. But Obama ‘didn’t give her that,’ to paraphrase Obama’s infamous ‘you didn’t build that’ to entrepreneurs. Oh, oh, you think, if Obama didn’t give her the ObamaPhone, then the government gave her the phone and the ObamaPhone comes out of your taxes if you are part of the 53% who pay taxes. Good news! The government didn’t pay for ObamaPhones with tax money. Bad news! You pay for ObamaPhones directly every month when you pay your telephone or wireless bill! Every bill you pay contains an item called Universal Access Charge, or some other weasel words to disguise it; so each month you make a direct payment to fund ObamaPhones. The amount varies by month, usage and devices you use. This month my simple land-based phone bill showed 87 cents; another month showed that I contributed $2.62 for ObamaPhone. The more you use your phone, the more you contribute to ObamaPhones. How about that for being patriotic? Give Obama credit, as an old Chicago politician and student of the Saul Alinsky school, he knows how to exploit anything. For a couple years the permanent Obama campaign has run a site that extolls his largess. At http://obamaphone.net/ the homepage of obamaphone.net reads: “The free ObamaPhone is an important program, especially for low income families that would otherwise not have access to basic communications.” The site instructs visitors how to get what the site calls an ObamaPhone. To be legal, but not necessarily honest, the site does have a buried disclaimer that the ObamaPhone does not come from Obama, nor was it instituted by him. Of course, no voter who falls into the 47% of non-taxpayers, mentioned by Romney, leaves the site without a ‘free’ ObamaPhone and a sure idea of whom to vote for in November. As the Cleveland women shouts, “...and he gonna do more for us.” A sign of a great politician is getting credit for what you didn’t do; Obama has succeeded admirably. What is the origin of what is now known as the ObamaPhone? In 1996 President Bill Clinton, now elder statesman and saint of the Democrat party, realized that rural hospitals, libraries and schools did not have adequate telephone access (Fact Check: I verified that Fayette Memorial Hospital, Carnegie Library and both school systems actually did have telephone service in 1996). I wonder how anyone as clever as Bill Clinton forgot to mention our police department and the fire department, which, I’m sure he believed were still receiving ‘smoke signals’ in 1996. Of course, the real goal was elsewhere in the legislation. Added to the warm and fuzzy institutions named was a little clause also guaranteeing phones to ‘rural poor.’ How rural is Cleveland where everyone has an ObamaPhone? The USF (universal service fee ) was a super win for Bill Clinton, Congress and government. Now it is co-opted by Obama as if it were his own. Congress mandated that all telephone companies providing interstate service must contribute to the USF. Although not required to do so by the government, many carriers choose to pass their contribution costs on to their customers in the form of a line item, often called the "Federal Universal Service Fee" or "Universal Connectivity Fee." Note: Clinton and Congress got the credit for helping rural hospitals, libraries and schools connect for the first time to telephones and they grandstanded as compassionate statesmen. They also got to appoint a passel of new bureaucrats to monitor the telephone companies- a major win for big government. The telephone companies must collect the tax, well disguised in your telephone bill, and pass out free phones to those who qualify, otherwise known as the 47%. They do the work and the government gets the credit. The original plan was for regular landline phones but it has now morphed into free cell phones for which demand is accelerating. If you feel your freedom and money are wasted on an ObamaPhone for someone else, you can opt out. All you have to do is cancel your landline phone and scrap your cell phone and you will no longer be taxed, but you may have a communications problem. But as the bigger benefit, you may then qualify as a poor rural resident ( even if you don’t live in Cleveland ) to get you own personal ObamaPhone. There’s even a bonus. If you sign another 47%er up, you get extra minutes on your ObamaPhone. And, don’t forget to vote for your benefactor this November. t The candy man in the White House. Obamafabulisms

Mike Flynn: Obama’s reelection campaign is predicated on the myth that the economy, while weak, is steadily improving. It isn’t–at all. Come November, Obama ought to take his rightful place in the unemployment line.

OBAMAPHONE

Nothing exposes the false glory of war more than a stale crust of bread. And nothing exposes the horror of government more than the 87 cents of my phone bill each month paying for a ‘crazy’ Obama lover’s free phone. Especially when the worshiper thinks Obama supplies her ‘gift’ not another American robbed of free choice and their treasurer

MR. PRESIDENT, TAKE DOWN THIS FILM!

MR. PRESIDENT, TAKE DOWN THIS FILM! Eventually, they were forced to discard this defense. It was really just a pretense, to deny that a resurgent al Qaeda had launched an attack; that Arabs and Muslims hate the United States just as they did when George W. Bush was president; and that the Obama doctrine of "lead from behind" was kaput. But the very fact that this pretense was bruited so earnestly and for so long is leaving the White House with a whole new problem: If an obscure and shoddy 14-minute "film," made by unknowns, disowned and denounced by the United States government, could cause so much outrage, what could a real film do -- a multimillion-dollar, star-studded extravaganza, made and marketed by a big, professional studio, with the full cooperation of the United States government? As it happens, just such a movie exists. "Zero Dark Thirty," directed by Academy Award winner Kathryn Bigelow, is scheduled to open Dec. 19. It tells the exciting tale of how U.S. special forces arranged the demise of Osama bin Laden, giving Obama, as it now appears certain, the single unquestioned success of his life. Planned at first as a rose tossed in Obama's direction, the movie has now become problematic for two reasons. First, if the attacks in Egypt and Libya are (as it seems) an al Qaeda production, then bin Laden's execution was merely revenge, and not a game changer. Second, the Obama administration has now posited that provocative films are excuses to riot -- and what could be more provoking of riots than the Great Satan dancing on Osama's watery grave? Perhaps the administration should say it had "nothing to do" with both the film and the mission. Perhaps it should denounce both as "offensive" and "hateful." Perhaps the government should beef up security at foreign embassies (and local cinemas). Perhaps local police should call on Ms. Bigelow. Perhaps the State Department should write its apologies in advance, now. They're the Tea Party of Muslim democracy and that's a fantastic, insightful story as well," TIME magazine's managing editor Richard Stengel said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" today. This is the view of our elites and the Obama administration.

Moral Hazzard

Moral Hazzard No one would dispute that too much power imperils liberty. Liberals, however, who support Obama and government intervention to solve all problems or facilitate all desires can’t admit this fact. A little devil called moral hazard ( supported by big government) waves his little pitchfork to celebrate government handouts, subsidies, food cards, grants, rebates and excuses that truly rob individuals of freedom to make personal decisions, even to sometimes fail. True liberty affords a person the ability to make wise, responsible economic and moral decisions. But the power government wields to shape people’s daily lives is awesome in its destructiveness. To ‘neither a borrower or a lender be” is advice left to Shakespeare on paper not to be heeded in these troubled times.

Madonna for Obama - Vomit

“Y’all better vote for f–king Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right? We have a black Muslim in the White House! Now that’s some amazing s–t,” Madonna said. “It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man, g-damnit.” At a concert in Washington, D.C. on Monday night, Madonna explained why she expected all of her fans to vote for Obama. The Calories Stop Here

The Calories Stop Here By Patrick Richardson WE MUST FORCE THEM TO BE FREE -er. P.J. Moran, a food service director for a small district in rural Kansas, said wastage has gone up “at least 20 percent” over last year, as students, particularly at the grade school level, cannot refuse anything on their trays — but, of course, cannot be forced to eat it. At the high school and junior high levels, things are more flexible, but not much. Moran said those students can refuse up to three items on the tray, but must take the fruit and vegetable servings whether they plan to eat them or not. The district’s principal, Jim Bolden, said that at the beginning of the year, food service put fresh peaches on the students’ trays, only to helplessly watch them be thrown away by students who didn’t eat them. Not only is the mandated food not popular and often wasted, there also is not enough of it and students are protesting. Students in one district have released a YouTube video parodying their quest for enough to eat during the day. A Facebook page asks kids to send in pictures of their meager lunches. According to Livestrong.com, teenagers need between 2,000 and 3,000 calories per day to be healthy, and athletes can need as many as 5,000 calories. But the new regulations limit the intake to just 750-850 calories on the tray, which, if the food is unpalatable, means the students may not be getting even that much. Rep. Huelskamp noted that even the last refuge of the hungry kid — the unlimited school salad bar — is now more or less a thing of the past. Eight-hundred calories is not going to get you from lunch through football practice. They can’t even have an unlimited salad bar any more because they [the kids] might put too much cheese on it or not have the mandated eight cherry tomatoes. The amount of protein a child is allowed on their trays is seriously limited as well, according to Huelskamp. He said the current regulations limit servings of protein, which could be anything from a hamburger to a side of beans to 1.5 ounces two days a week and 2 ounces the other three days. Huelskamp suggested the administration’s focus is perhaps misplaced: ”Obesity is not the number one national security concern like [Michelle Obama] says it is.”

18,000 SEATS DIVIDED INTO 5,000 SEATS = EMPTY SEAT AT OBMA EVENT

18,000 SEATS DIVIDED INTO 5,000 SEATS = EMPTY SEAT AT OBMA EVENT President Barack Obama is having trouble drawing large crowds on the campaign trail. At the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, his campaign was forced to move his acceptance speech from the 74,000-seat Bank of America Stadium to the 20,000 Time Warner Cable Arena, citing weather as the excuse. But the media are always eager to help--for example, putting 18,000 people inside a 5,000-seat arena at an Obama event in Milwaukee on Saturday. The contradiction was first noted by battlegroundwatch.com. Local media, including the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reported that Obama had addressed "supporters who filled the 5,000-seat BMO Harris Pavilion, along with thousands more who sat in bleachers and stood on the pavement beyond the protection of the roof, even as wind and rain lashed down in the latter moments of the near 30-minute speech." The pavilion was not "filled"--a local reporter for Patch.com filmed empty seats in the bleachers at the side of the arena (see above). Nevertheless, the Journal-Sentinal played it safe, putting attendance at roughly 5,000-plus, a small but respectable turnout. That's not how national media covered it. Darren Samuelsohn of Politico reported that the president addressed "a crowd the Obama campaign estimated at 18,000 in a city park overlooking Lake Michigan" in an attempt to "lock up" Wisconsin

What economists call an “agency problem” pervades higher education

What economists call an “agency problem” pervades higher education. By Michael Rizzo In September 2011 my university proudly unveiled a green investment in campus infrastructure, the “Solar-Dok” picnic table/charging station. While it looks like a picnic table, it has 10 square feet of solar panels attached to its awning. Those panels are connected to a battery so that people can plug in their laptops phones, cameras, iPads or other devices. Rochester doesn’t get a whole lot of sun, but the potential justification for it was that it might save $90 per year in electricity costs and $9 per year in damages to the earth from reducing carbon dioxide emissions (both unreasonably optimistic assumptions). Aside from being a funny-looking table that gets virtually no use, at $11,500 it is a terrible economic investment and an even worse environmental investment. But it remains prominently featured on the college’s website and proudly sports the campus symbol of smart sustainability. When asked whether they had calculated its impacts, college administrators indicated that no such calculations were even attempted. Nor did they care: it was an important symbol and message. “A few students wanted it,” admitted one administrator, and “that’s what our competitors are doing.” I can think of no better illustration of what economists call the agency problem that cripples American higher education: It’s only a few dollars, what’s the big deal? And even if it’s a lot of dollars, well, there’s no harm to university administrators. Thus there is little incentive for administrators not to engage in these activities. Also classes mostly confined to Tuesday through Thursday for students convenience.

“Some sort of improvised movie review that got a little out of hand”

“Some sort of improvised movie review that got a little out of hand” MARK STEYN: BOWING TO THE MOBS. “After a week and a half of peddling an utterly false narrative of what happened in Libya, the United States government is apparently beginning to discern that there are limits to what even Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Susan Rice can say with a straight face. The official line — that the slaughter of American officials was some sort of improvised movie review that got a little out of hand — is now in the process of modification to something bearing a less patently absurd relationship to what actually happened. That should not make any more forgivable the grotesque damage that the administration has done to the bedrock principle of civilized society: freedom of speech.”

he U.S. Suffered Its Worst Airpower Loss Since Vietnam Last Week and No One Really Noticed

The U.S. Suffered Its Worst Airpower Loss Since Vietnam Last Week and No One Really Noticed OBAMA DOESN’T MENTION AND MEDIA DOESN’T HOLD OBAMA ACCOUNTABLE BY JOHN HUDSON | SEP 21, 2012 The Taliban attack on an air base in southern Afghanistan on Friday drew coverage for the way the insurgents cloaked themselves in U.S. army uniforms to gain a tactical advantage, but few have taken note of the historical proportions of the damage inflicted. John Gresham, at the Defense Media Network, has published a detailed account of the attack on Camp Bastion, in which two Marines were killed, six U.S. Marine Corps jet fighters were destroyed, and two more "significantly" damaged. Those facts were all carried in most reports, but if that just sounds like a typical damage report from a decade-long war, you're wrong. Gresham explains the devastating damage done to VMA-211, the name of the Marine Corps attack squadron that was most affected last week, noting that it is "arguably the worst day in [U.S. Marine Corps] aviation history since the Tet Offensive of 1968." Or you could go back even further. "The last time VMA-211 was combat ineffective was in December 1941, when the squadron was wiped out during the 13-day defense of Wake Island against the Japanese." He spells out some more of the details of the attack: Eight irreplaceable aircraft have been destroyed or put out of action – approximately 7 percent of the total flying USMC Harrier fleet. Worse yet, the aircraft involved were the AV-B+ variant equipped with the APG-65 radar and AAQ-28 Litening II targeting pods – the most capable in the force. Given the current funding situation, it’s likely that the two damaged AV-8Bs will become spare parts “hangar queens” and never fly again. A Harrier squadron commander is dead, along with another Marine. Another nine personnel have been wounded, and the nearby Marines at Camp Freedom are now without effective fixed-wing air support. The USMC’s response to this disaster will be a telling report card on its leadership and organizational agility.

Obama’s Army ( Sometimes called The Media ) Fail to Report:

Obama’s Army ( Sometimes called The Media ) Fail to Report: INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY: Obama’s Creepy Cult of Personality. “Last week, the Obama campaign started selling a refashioned American flag with its logo replacing the stars, and then urged Americans to pledge allegiance to Barack. Did we just wake up in Mao’s China?” INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY: You Broke The Mideast, Mr. President. Now You Own It. WELL, IT’S NOT LIKE IT’S DISSING MUHAMMAD: White House Silent Over Demands to Denounce ‘Piss Christ’ Artwork. And it’s not like the people who don’t like it have killed anyone. May our leaders have joy of the incentive system they’re creating. FOUAD AJAMI: Muslim Rage And Obama’s Retreat. This is not a Jimmy Carter moment—a U.S. Embassy and its staff seized and held hostage for 444 days, America’s enemies taking stock of its weakness, its allies running for cover. But the anti-American protests that broke upon 20 nations this past week must be reckoned a grand personal failure for Barack Obama, and a case of hubris undone. James Taranto on Obama’s Apology Ad: What message does the ad actually send the Mohammed Tariq Khans? On the one hand, a message of weakness: Assemble a big enough mob, kill enough people, burn enough flags and churches, and you too can grab the attention of the most powerful man and woman in the world. On the other hand, a taunt. If Obama and Mrs. Clinton really mean it, the Khans must think, why haven’t they presented the video makers for public mincing? The State Department’s ad contains no answer to that crucial question. If our government is going to run an ad to educate Pakistanis (or whoever) about American attitudes, wouldn’t it make sense to include an explanation as to why America’s leaders cannot and will not enforce the mob’s standards of blasphemy? To an American, what’s objectionable about this ad isn’t so much the apology for the video’s offense as the abject failure to defend basic American principles of freedom. That same failure makes the ad less than worthless as an educational tool.

CARTER + NIXON = OBAMA

CARTER + NIXON = OBAMA Remember that Obama has demonstrated the competence of Carter with the integrity of Nixon. He has given us persistent unemployment and a pathetic recovery, Obamacare people don’t want, a pipeline project knifed in the back without explanation while money disappears down the great Green sinkhole, a staggering debt and huge yearly deficits, poisoned relations with Congress, an incompetent Department of Justice, states and cities wrestling with financial collapse across the country, schools that keep getting worse—not to mention calamitous security leaks, the Middle East in flames and Iran’s terrorist government closer to nuclear weapons every day.

Peak Day of Embassy Protests, Obama Did an Interview

On Peak Day of Embassy Protests, Obama Did an Interview with People Magazine and Posed for a Photo Spread There’s a reason the White House initially insisted (for a pitifully long period of time) that the attack on the US consulate in Libya was a spontaneous uprising that wasn’t in any way a pre-meditated terrorism event. That reason is simple: If the White House admitted it was a planned terrorist attack, the president would have looked really bad for not canceling all this neat stuff: New information reveals President Barack Obama conducted interviews with entertainment magazines and posed for a photo spread last Friday as American embassies burned and 21 countries erupted into anti-American protests. Instead of spending precious time dealing with the developing crisis in the Mid East and with his foreign policy scheme in a total freefall, on Friday morning, September 14, Obama was giving an interview to the entertainment magazine People en Español and participating in a photo session with photographer Omar Cruz. This interview was not on his public schedule and was hidden from the public. Friday, September 14th was the same day that four flag-draped coffins of those killed at the U.S. Libyan embassy arrived at Andrews Air Force base. The interview came to public attention when individuals who work for the magazine tweeted about their visit after the event was over. Only in the last day or two has anybody connected to the White House begrudgingly admitted that yes, it was a terrorist attack. Gutsy call!

FOOD STAMP PRESIDENT

Nearly 80 percent of the nearly $1 trillion Farm Bill will fund an expanded food stamp program that is projected to offer increased benefits long after economists expect the economy will have recovered. he remaining 11 percent goes to fund the myriad of federal farm subsidies that give the Farm Bill its name, such as wetland conservation programs, price supports, and crop insurance.

property and Freedom

From the great Harvard historian Richard Pipes’s 1999 volume, Property and Freedom: Rights, in any meaningful sense, are natural rights, not those bestowed by legislative fiat. Failure to understand Pipes’s point reflects a failure to understand what is perhaps the single most crucial aspect of society: social order is “the result of human action but not of human design.” It’s an immensely curious fact about modern “Progressives” that they dismiss as intellectually handicapped or hopelessly superstitious (or both) those who deny the full reality and role of undesigned, evolved order in the non-human world (especially in the realms of biology, geology, and astronomy), but regard as enlightened and indisputably correct those those who deny the full reality and role of undesigned, evolved order in society.

Obama Dishonest?

John Hinderaker asks, “Is Barack Obama America’s Most Dishonest Politician?” Letterman, to his credit, went on to ask Obama how much the national debt actually is. Obama evidently knew that if he said $16 trillion his audience would be horrified, so, incredibly, he pretended not to know! You have to see it to believe it.

Obama's Ego

Who has a size 40 ego but a size 32 soul? You guess it! (Hint he also has big ears)

Fake Hunger Crock

In Chicago, school district 84% of students qualify for free or reduced breakfast or lunch at school. Do they need to be fed? Well, 147 sites were opened during the teachers’ strike to feed the hungry students. 4,800 meals were served although 400,000 meals are typically served per day. DO THE MATH. Could it be that claims that 84% of the children are starving because their parents can’t feed them is all a crock. Has the strike caused “massive food spoilage” as official content or do we have proof that students are not hungry, can be fed when not in school and thus do not need free meals? Waste truly annoys me.

Obama to Free Bomber?

Obama to free Omar Abdel Rahman, mastermind of the first World Trade Center bombing? Will there ever be a last straw for the MSM that is acting as Obama’s press corps? Is there anything Obama could do that would make them say “Enough!” and stand up for America? What would it take? How about this: the announcement that the Obama administration is considering transferring the “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman, mastermind of the first World Trade Center bombing, to Egypt “for humanitarian and health reasons.” Incredulous? Then you underestimate the Islamophilc nature of the Obama administration. (From Roger Kimball)

Free Speech for Pussy Riot, but not for Innocence of Muslims!

Free Speech for Pussy Riot, but not for Innocence of Muslims RICK MORAN ON THE U.S. GOVERNMENT’S DOUBLE STANDARD: Free Speech for Pussy Riot, but not for Innocence of Muslims. Well, Pussy Riot threatened Putin’s power. Innocence of Muslims threatens Obama’s. Totally different situations. Totally. “The United States is concerned about both the verdict and the disproportionate sentences handed down by a Moscow court in the case against the members of the band Pussy Riot and the negative impact on freedom of expression in Russia. We urge Russian authorities to review this case and ensure that the right to freedom of expression is upheld.” By contrast, on September 14, Clinton, speaking about the YouTube video “Innocence of Muslims” that allegedly sparked the protests and attacks on U.S. diplomatic posts, sang a very different tune: “The United States government… absolutely reject[s the] content and message [of the video]… to us, to me personally, this video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose: to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage.” Filozof makes note of the hypocrisy: So. The U.S. government lectures the Russians about “freedom of expression” in defense of freaks who engage in public sex, public vandalism, and the denigration of a “great religion,” the Russian Orthodox Church.

“I was born to be part of the Tea Party.” Wayne Allyn Root

“I was born to be part of the Tea Party.” Wayne Allyn Root We have always been told that “Americans will never hear the knock on the door in the middle of the night”. SAYING GOODBYE TO THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY TO SUPPORT MITT ROMNEY: An Exit Interview With Wayne Allyn Root. Excerpt: I believe in economic and personal freedom. I want government out of my life- out of both the boardroom and the bedroom. I believe in the limited government promised by the U.S. Constitution. I want government to get out of the way of small business owners like me- put fewer rules & regulations in our way, and allow us to keep more of our own money. Under the Obama administration we have seen businessmen be denigrated, demonized, punished, smothered by 60,000 new rules and regulations, and attacked by the IRS. However, far too often the GOP has given only lip service to smaller government, individual rights, and the Constitution. Once elected, they ignore those ideas and grow government just like Democrats. Look at the spending under George W. Bush. Look at the 25,000 new rules and regulations under Bush (far better than Obama, but still terrible). Look at the growth of government and the rising debt under Bush. Look at the increase in compensation, pensions, and number of government employees under all GOP Presidents. This was precisely why I left the GOP. But I believe with the birth and growth of the Tea Party, this is now changing. I was born to be part of the Tea Party.

Obama- Egypt - Libya

Proud to be an American? Islamists commemorate 9/11 by sacking U.S. embassy in Cairo, tearing down American flag and raising Al Qaida flag. In Libya, Islamists kill 4 Americans including the U.S. Ambassador. Only well into the morning on 9/12 does Pres. Obama get around to issuing a statement that seems more like an apology than the justified outrage of a great nation. But Obama did delay departing for his campaign trip to Las Vegas by a whole hour. With American blood running in the streets and an American embassy burning, the first response of the Obama administration was to apologize to the murderers and vandals for America’s tradition of free speech. In two countries, on 9/11, a truly symbolic date, ‘spontaneous’ uprisings protesting a film that 99.9% of Americans never heard of ( and assuredly most of the Islamists never heard of either) supposedly result from Islamic outrage. Now, protests are spreading to other Mideast countries. Do you believe that this is all coincidence or was it preplanned and coordinated? Many years ago when I lectured on such subjects, I always explained that ‘spontaneous demonstrations’ took the most meticulous planning and training. I was right then and I am right now. I don’t believe a word about the cause or excuses made by either the Islamists or the Obama administration. The initial response of the Obama administration was truly awful. Note Americans, the U.S. and free speech are to blame. Here is the statement released Tuesday by the U.S. embassy, in its entirety: “The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others. While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.” After a justified uproar, President Obama issued a Rose Garden statement of 4 paragraphs. Only one sentence related to outrage over the sacking and murder of American; “ While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.” To me this still smacks of groveling and apology to the terrorists. Poor Barack! He was forced t delay his departure for a campaign trip one full hour. H is obviously incapable of thinking about anyone but himself. Viva Las Vegas! Republican candidate Romney gave a more American assessment: “I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It’s disgraceful that the Obama Administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.” I am so thankful Obama is off to Las Vegas and not Plains, Georgia to see Jimmy Carter.

Not a 3% pay increase for 1st year and 2% in each of next three years. 4. Not a SMALL increase in some co-payments for health benefits. What do you think is fair for taxpayers? Just to help you decide, Chicago teachers already have received total wage increases of 19% to 46% during their 2007-2012 contract depending on factors. Starting salaries are $50,000 not including benefits for a 5 3/4 hour workday for 39 weeks. What is the terrible waste of children’s minds in schools like Chicago worth?

EGYPTIANS ASSAULT AMERICAN EMBASSY

EGYPTIANS ASSAULT AMERICAN EMBASSY, TEAR DOWN U.S. FLAG AND HOIST ISLAMIC FLAG. U.S. RESPONSE GROVEL. Make sure you read American response below! Egyptian demonstrators climbed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo today and pulled down the American flag to protest a film they say is insulting to the prophet Mohammad. Reuters reports that protesters tried to raise a black flag carrying the slogan: "There is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger." After the protest, the U.S. Embassy issued this statement on its website: “The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of other “ I DO NOT SEE ANY MENTION OF WARLIKE ATTACK OR DESECRATION OF AMERICAN FLAG! The Housing Bubble? Clinton Helped Build That

The Housing Bubble? Clinton Helped Build That by David Frum Sep 6, 2012 As Bill Clinton collects his accolades, let's recall: the key decisions that inflated the housing bubble of the 2000s - and that laid waste to the US economy in 2008 -- were taken under Bill Clinton's administration: the decision to leave derivative trading unregulated, the decision to allow deposit-taking institutions to engage in proprietary trading, the pressure on banks to relax mortgage lending standards, the decision to allow Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to grow enormously large thanks to the implicit subsidy of the government guarantee of their bonds and borrowing. If President Obama inherited a mess not of his own making, it should be remembered of whose making the mess was

tter Off? Let’s Count the Ways We’re Not.

FOUR YEARS AGO IS LOOKING PRETTY GOOD: Investor’s Business Daily: Better Off? Let’s Count the Ways We’re Not. By most measures the country isn’t making slow progress; it’s falling further behind. Some examples: • Median incomes: These have fallen 7.3% since Obama took office, which translates into an average of $4,000. Since the so-called recovery started, median incomes continued to fall, dropping $2,544, or 4.8%. • Long-term unemployed: More than three years into Obama’s recovery, 811,000 more still fall into this category than when the recession ended. • Poverty: The poverty rate climbed to 15.1% in 2010, up from 14.3% in 2009, and economists think it may have hit 15.7% last year, highest since the 1960s. • Food stamps: There are 11.8 million more people on food stamps since Obama’s recovery started. • Disability: More than 1 million workers have been added to Social Security’s disability program in the last three years. • Gas prices: A gallon of gas cost $1.89 when Obama was sworn in. By June 2009, the price was $2.70. Today, it’s $3.84. • Misery Index: When Obama took office, the combination of unemployment and inflation stood at 7.83. Today it’s 9.71. • Union membership: Even unions are worse off under Obama, with membership dropping half a million between 2009 and 2011. • Debt: Everyone is far worse off if you just look at the national debt. It has climbed more than $5 trillion under Obama, crossing $16 trillion for the first time on Tuesday and driving the U.S. credit rating down. Ironically, the only people better off under Obama are corporate chieftains, who’ve seen corporate profits climb more than 50% under Obama’s “recovery,” and investors, who’ve benefited from a near-doubling in the Dow industrials from its March 2009 lows. Given this record, we can only hope Obama doesn’t have the chance to get a “complete” on his plans.

Can a platform without God hold up a nation?

Can a platform without God hold up a nation? Apparently, the Democratic Party believes so; God’s name has been removed from the Democratic National platform and Obama will run on that platform. The platform is the statement of core beliefs of the party and its candidates; and God ain’t there. A new level of rejection of the western Christian tradition has been reached. Onward non-Christian soldiers! Some critics will suggest that when you have planks in your platform that support abortion rights and gay marriage then it's no wonder that God's name would be dropped. But if ‘abortion’ and ‘gay rights’ are the new sacraments of the Democrat Party, what is the new deity? Government. Yes, government “Is The Only Thing We All Belong To." according to the video shown at the convention and applauded by Democrat delegates. Your rights come from government not that old fashioned deity. Also dropped is recognition that Jerusalem is capital of Israel. No matter what those pesky Israelis believe, the Democratic platform states that there will be an ‘international commission’ to name Israel’s Capital. I am sure the Democrat Platform ends with: “ I am Barack Obama, and I approve this message.”

We don’t know yet how that strategy will pay off in the voting booth, but if the president and his party get the kid-gloves treatment from the media this week after the RNC festival of overheated fact-checking, then the institution of political journalism may creep into still more unchartered territory: taking sides in the very polarization it usually claims to abhor.”

Barack Liberation Theology?

Barack Liberation Theology? Falsani: Do you believe in sin? Obama: Yes. Falsani: What is sin? Obama: Being out of alignment with my values From interview with Cathleen Falsani of the Chicago Sun-Times in which Obama defines sin, not along traditional Christian or Muslim lines, but along self-referential lines President Obama’s church is the Chapel of (Progressive) Democracy Well, at least the question of his religion is settled: not Christianity or Islam or even Black Liberation Theology. It’s himself. And what is the biggest sin? Not voting for me!

HOW RICH PEOPLE THINK

HOW RICH PEOPLE THINK World's richest woman Gina Rinehart, FROM PERTH AUSTRALIA. is enduring a media firestorm over an article in which she takes the "jealous" middle class to task for "drinking, or smoking and socializing" rather than working to earn their own fortune. What if she has a point? Steve Siebold, author of "How Rich People Think," spent nearly three decades interviewing millionaires around the world to find out what separates them from everyone else. It had little to do with money itself, he told Business Insider. It was about their mentality. "[The middle class] tells people to be happy with what they have," he said. "And on the whole, most people are steeped in fear when it comes to money." 1. Average people think MONEY is the root of all evil. Rich people believe POVERTY is the root of all evil. "The average person has been brainwashed to believe rich people are lucky or dishonest," Siebold writes. That's why there's a certain shame that comes along with "getting rich" in lower-income communities. "The world class knows that while having money doesn't guarantee happiness, it does make your life easier and more enjoyable." 2. Average people think selfishness is a vice. Rich people think selfishness is a virtue. "The rich go out there and try to make themselves happy. They don't try to pretend to save the world," Siebold told Business Insider. The problem is that middle class people see that as a negative––and it's keeping them poor, he writes. "If you're not taking care of you, you're not in a position to help anyone else. You can't give what you don't have." 3. Average people have a lottery mentality. Rich people have an action mentality. "While the masses are waiting to pick the right numbers and praying for prosperity, the great ones are solving problems," Siebold writes. "The hero [middle class people] are waiting for may be God, government, their boss or their spouse. It's the average person's level of thinking that breeds this approach to life and living while the clock keeps ticking away." 4. Average people think the road to riches is paved with formal education. Rich people believe in acquiring specific knowledge. "Many world-class performers have little formal education, and have amassed their wealth through the acquisition and subsequent sale of specific knowledge," he writes. "Meanwhile, the masses are convinced that master's degrees and doctorates are the way to wealth, mostly because they are trapped in the linear line of thought that holds them back from higher levels of consciousness...The wealthy aren't interested in the means, only the end." 5. Average people long for the good old days. Rich people dream of the future. “Self-made millionaires get rich because they're willing to bet on themselves and project their dreams, goals and ideas into an unknown future," Siebold writes. "People who believe their best days are behind them rarely get rich, and often struggle with unhappiness and depression." 6. Average people see money through the eyes of emotion. Rich people think about money logically. "An ordinarily smart, well-educated and otherwise successful person can be instantly transformed into a fear-based, scarcity driven thinker whose greatest financial aspiration is to retire comfortably," he writes. "The world class sees money for what it is and what it's not, through the eyes of logic. The great ones know money is a critical tool that presents options and opportunities." 7. Average people earn money doing things they don't love. Rich people follow their passion. "To the average person, it looks like the rich are working all the time," Siebold says. "But one of the smartest strategies of the world class is doing what they love and finding a way to get paid for it." On the other hand, middle class take jobs they don't enjoy "because they need the money and they've been trained in school and conditioned by society to live in a linear thinking world that equates earning money with physical or mental effort." 8. Average people set low expectations so they're never disappointed. Rich people are up for the challenge. "Psychologists and other mental health experts often advise people to set low expectations for their life to ensure they are not disappointed," Siebold writes. "No one would ever strike it rich and live their dreams without huge expectations." 9. Average people believe you have to DO something to get rich. Rich people believe you have to BE something to get rich. "That's why people like Donald Trump go from millionaire to nine billion dollars in debt and come back richer than ever," he writes. "While the masses are fixated on the doing and the immediate results of their actions, the great ones are learning and growing from every experience, whether it's a success or a failure, knowing their true reward is becoming a human success machine that eventually produces outstanding results." 10. Average people believe you need money to make money. Rich people use other people's money. Thought might tell people to make money in order to earn more, but Siebold says the rich aren't afraid to fund their future from other people's pockets. “Rich people know not being solvent enough to personally afford something is not relevant. The real question is, 'Is this worth buying, investing in, or pursuing?'" he writes. 11. Average people believe the markets are driven by logic and strategy. Rich people know they're driven by emotion and greed. Investing successfully in the stock market isn't just about a fancy math formula. "The rich know that the primary emotions that drive financial markets are fear and greed, and they factor this into all trades and trends they observe," Siebold writes. "This knowledge of human nature and its overlapping impact on trading give them strategic advantage in building greater wealth through leverage." ATTENTION: THIS WHY WE USE INDEX FUNDS THAT ELIMINATE EMOTIONS OF ‘FEAR’ AND ‘GREED’. GOD BLESS JACK BOGLE! 12. Average people live beyond their means. Rich people live below theirs. "Here's how to live below your means and tap into the secret wealthy people have used for centuries: Get rich so you can afford to," he writes. "The rich live below their means, not because they're so savvy, but because they make so much money that they can afford to live like royalty while still having a king's ransom socked away for the future." 13. Average people teach their children how to survive. Rich people teach their kids to get rich. Parents teach their kids from an early age about the world of "haves" and "have-nots," Siebold says. Even he admits many people have argued that he's supporting the idea of elitism. He disagrees. "[People] say parents are teaching their kids to look down on the masses because they're poor. This isn't true," he writes. "What they're teaching their kids is to see the world through the eyes of objective reality––the way society really is." If children understand wealth early on, they'll be more likely to strive for it later in life. 14. Average people let money stress them out. Rich people find peace of mind in wealth. The reason wealthy people earn more wealth is that they're not afraid to admit that money can solve most problems, Siebold says. "[The middle class] sees money as a never-ending necessary evil that must be endured as part of life. The world class sees money as the great liberator, and with enough of it, they are able to purchase financial peace of mind." 15. Average people would rather be entertained than educated. Rich people would rather be educated than entertained. While the rich don't put much stock in furthering wealth through formal education, they appreciate the power of learning long after college is over, Siebold says. "Walk into a wealthy person's home and one of the first things you'll see is an extensive library of books they've used to educate themselves on how to become more successful," he writes. "The middle class reads novels, tabloids and entertainment magazines." 16. Average people think rich people are snobs. Rich people just want to surround themselves with like-minded people. The negative money mentality poisoning the middle class is what keeps the rich hanging out with the rich, he says. "[Rich people] can't afford the messages of doom and gloom," he writes. "This is often misinterpreted by the masses as snobbery. Labeling the world class as snobs is another way the middle class finds to feel better bout themselves and their chosen path of mediocrity." 17. Average people focus on saving. Rich people focus on earning. Siebold theorizes that the wealthy focus on what they'll gain by taking risks, rather than how to save what they have. "The masses are so focused on clipping coupons and living frugally they miss major opportunities," he writes. "Even in the midst of a cash flow crisis, the rich reject the nickle and dime thinking of the masses. They are the masters of focusing their mental energy where it belongs: on the big money." 18. Average people play it safe with money. Rich people know when to take risks. "Leverage is the watchword of the rich," Siebold writes. "Every investor loses money on occasion, but the world class knows no matter what happens, they will aways be able to earn more." 19. Average people love to be comfortable. Rich people find comfort in uncertainty. For the most part, it takes guts to take the risks necessary to make it as a millionaire––a challenge most middle class thinkers aren't comfortable living with. "Physical, psychological, and emotional comfort is the primary goal of the middle class mindset," Siebold writes. World class thinkers learn early on that becoming a millionaire isn't easy and the need for comfort can be devastating. They learn to be comfortable while operating in a state of ongoing uncertainty." 20. Average people never make the connection between money and health. Rich people know money can save your life. While the middle class squabbles over the virtues of Obamacare and their company's health plan, the super wealthy are enrolled in a super elite "boutique medical care" association, Siebold says. "They pay a substantial yearly membership fee that guarantees them 24-hour access to a private physician who only serves a small group of members," he writes. "Some wealthy neighborhoods have implemented this strategy and even require the physician to live in the neighborhood." 21. Average people believe they must choose between a great family and being rich. Rich people know you can have it all. The idea the wealth must come at the expense of family time is nothing but a "cop-out", Siebold says. "The masses have been brainwashed to believe it's an either/or equation," he writes. "The rich know you can have anything you want if you approach the challenge with a mindset rooted in love and abundance." 22. Not everyone believes in the power of wealth.... OBAMA WASHED AWAY

OBAMA IN SEATED LINCOLN POSE HAS BASE WASHED AWAY CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention. Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.
