1. People are incredible. You get more than two of them together and such incredible nonsense happens.

2. this article reminds me that Thomas Sowell somewhere pointed out that it is precisely because we put a man on the moon that other desirable things that might otherwise have been achieved were, in fact, not achieved.
There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch – or a free space program

3. An idea or plan is useless if it can’t be executed, reviewed and adjusted. Where government differs from a business is that Congress is not all working toward the same goal, which means that getting laws passed is often more important than getting laws that work passed. Maligned federal agencies are simply instructed to build out legislation as an architectural firm might be asked to build a family’s dream house by incorporating every individual family member’s personal preferences

4. tinteardrop says:
1. “You cannot ask ordinary Americans who have no jobs, whose pensions have been ransacked, and whose pay has been stagnant, to keep rewarding people who don’t face the same kind of conditions and risk.”
Bingo!!
0bama’s small Chicago centric mentality simple did not understand the scale of the essence of this statement. Real Americans have watched this creepy little world of unionism with disdain as they have looted the system.
But it took 0bama to try to institutionalize their terrorist tactics as a separate and new form of entitlement to awaken the country to the ultimate danger here.
Americans have an new element to their ballot choices this fall. Is the candidate aligned with this creepy little world? If so…beware.

5. On December 18, the Copenhagen climate change conference collapsed. Heads of state from about 120 countries had flocked to the Danish capital, anticipating a historic photo op that would lead future generations to lionize them as visionary saviors who rescued the planet from the menace of man-made global warming. Instead the world’s leaders participated in an embarrassing diplomatic flop.

6. Joe Biden is jazzed up. Like he said, "people should feel good about paying their fair share." Love his logic.

7. Being a government employee, is in essence, being on the dole. The more people that work for the government, the less people you need to subjugate. This administration is working every angle possible to get their greedy little dick skinners onto and into every aspect of every single persons life. Cass Sunstein would be proud of the "nudging" we are experiencing now. Don't forget, Barry has almost 3 more years to finish his "fundamental transformation". We still have a long way to go, and even more to endure...!

.....not only are they not sharing the burden in terms of unemployment - they are often overpaid (compared to the market rate of their "skill set"), under-worked (union rules, ya know) and beneficiaries of ridiculously generous benefits - early retirement, pensions & healthcare with little or no employee contribution. Things that continue to bankrupt cities and states. And we all know what this type of job security & entitlement results in - workers who perform badly (but just good enough to not get canned), with horrible customer service, and no incentive to do otherwise.

8. Barack Obama is claiming credit for "1. saving" the economy from a full-blown depression based on passage of the stimulus plan.

As with most Obama claims of success, Obama simply is exhibiting his prowess at using strawman arguments.
