Barack Obama, President of the United States
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington D.C.

Dear Mr. President,

Your apology is required for tolerating the slander of the T.E.A. Party movement by James Hoffa, President of the Teamsters Union, in your presence at your campaign event disguised as a Labor Day Rally in Detroit. It is also intolerable that your Vice-president Joseph Biden identifies the Federal Government as part of the labor movement in his speech at the campaign event disguised as the Labor Day Rally in Cincinnati. What has happened to a government that is supposed to represent, defend and protect all Americans? Has any other administration called for “war” on peaceful Americans exercising their rights under the Constitution?

Only 9% of Americans are union members, the vast majority of them being government workers. Many of them are required to be union members and have no free choice. 25% of Americans identify with the T.E.A. Party movement; they do so freely, without coercion and without mandatory dues.

You stepped to the podium, smiled and thanked James Hoffa immediately after he shouted these words: “We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan and America. We’re going to win that war ... President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march…Everybody here’s got a vote… Let’s take these sons of a bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong.”
You are declaring that you and your administration are the servants of the 9% of union members and the other 91% of Americans are as nothing. When you do not condemn the direct statements of violence to be used to cow the rest of America by these thugs, you become an accomplice to their thuggery.
Only a few miles from my home, Vice-president Biden identified the federal government as part of the labor movement devoted to promoting the union agenda. He called for the repeal of Ohio SB5, a law democratically passed, in order to strengthen the union stranglehold on the people of Ohio. Clearly, he described your administration as the representatives of the union and not Ohioans. His highly partisan comments were only suitable for a campaign event and not a public ceremony on Labor Day, which is to honor all workers and not just the 9% controlled by unions.
I call upon you to publically apologize to the TEA Party for tolerating it being slandered in your presence and to rebuke and cast out James Hoffa and his violence- encouraging ilk from your campaign.
Also, since both of these events were purely 2012 campaign events for yours and Biden’s re-election and not public ceremonies for all Americans, taxpayers should not be paying millions of dollars for your 2012 campaign. I suggest that the General Accountability Office review the propriety of using taxpayers’ funds for your 2012 campaign.

Respectfully,
Thomas J. McLaughlin, President FCTP
