1. Head Start Fails Again:
Latest study show same lack of accomplishment by Head Start that every other evaluation has shown for 25 years. Solution is to spend more doing same failed thing, now 7 billion a year.
"Taxpayers have been on the hook for more than $100 billion for the Head Start program since 1965. This federal evaluation, which effectively shows no lasting impact on children after first grade and no difference between those children who attended Head Start and those who did not, should call into question the merits of increasing funding for the program, which the Obama administration recently did as part of the so-called “stimulus” bill.
Andrew Coulson over at Cato points to the hypocrisy of continuing to bolster funding an unquestionably ineffective program."
2. Goal of government is to level playing field. Goal of all politicians and bureaucrats is to create mountains and valleys on the playing field for their own benefit.
3. “Ford said a $450 million investment to build its next-generation hybrid models and its first plug-in electric cars in Michigan should yield 1,000 jobs in the beleaguered state.” English translation: the government will give Ford $450 billion of taxpayer money to build a car that no citizen wants but the government will then force them to buy through ‘nudges’ and regulations stripping away wealth and freedom. 1,000 jobs @ 450 million is ONLY $4.5 million per job!
4. Washing state has found new way to change society, change the definition of words. Follow the definition of ‘poor children over time: Underprivileged to Disadvantaged to At Risk to , now, At Hope! Yes, yes Washington State has introduced legislation to change all legislation and statues to read ‘ At Hope’ wherever the term ‘ At Risk’ appears in relation to poor children.
